Board
of Deacons
For they that
have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and
great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. 1
Timothy 3 :13
Now in these days when the disciples were
increasing in number, the Hellenists murmured against the Hebrews because their
widows were neglected in the daily distribution.
And the twelve summoned the body of the disciples
and said,"It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God
to serve tables.
Therefore, brethren, pick out from among you
seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint
to this duty.
But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the
ministry of the word."
And what they said pleased the whole multitude,
and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip,
and Proch'orus, and Nica'nor, and Ti'mon, and Par'menas, and Nicola'us, a
proselyte of Antioch.
These they set before the apostles, and they
prayed and laid their hands upon them.
And the word of God increased; and the number of
the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests
were obedient to the faith. Acts 6:2-7

Sheepfold
Ministry
|
The
purpose of the Sheepfold Ministry is to keep members of the church
in touch with one another; to offer support and empathy in times
of crisis; and to provide a small fellowship within the large
church family. It is the hope that fellow believers will get to
know and to minister to each other's needs in this small setting.
Under the leadership and guidance of the area Deacon. Each
Sheepfold contacts each family in their area and tries to
acquainted with each other. They also acknowledge special events
in the lives of our families and help the Deacons to minister in
the times of sickness or death. The Sheepfold Ministry is one
family caring for another family in the way the "Good
Shepherd" cared for us. Every member of Tabernacle is a
member of a sheepfold. Do you know what sheepfold your family is a
member of? Do you know the leader of that Sheepfold? |
